Vitasta Law College Holds Legal Literacy Programme at Fakir Gujri

Srinagar, Sep 20: A Legal Literacy Programme was today organized by Vitasta School of Law and Humanities, Nowgam Srinagar, at Fakir Gujri with the aim of spreading awareness about government welfare schemes and citizens’ rights.

The initiative sought to educate the local community on their legal entitlements and the various benefits available to them, thereby empowering residents to make informed use of government facilities.

The event was conducted under the supervision of faculty members Ms. Samreena Mehraj and Mr. Ajaz, who guided the proceedings and ensured that information was shared effectively with the participants. Students of the college actively engaged with the community, playing a vital role in the success of the programme.

Special mention was made of Class Representative Sheeraz, whose efforts in coordinating and managing the event were widely appreciated.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Samreena Mehraj, Teacher In-Charge, said: “Legal awareness is the first step towards empowerment. By educating people about their rights and the schemes meant for their welfare, we are helping them build a more secure and informed future.”

Echoing similar sentiments, Class Representative Sheeraz said: “It was a privilege for us as students to be part of this initiative. Such programmes not only help the community but also give us practical exposure and a sense of responsibility towards society.”

Vitasta Law College has been undertaking such community-driven initiatives to bridge the gap between academia and society, and today’s programme was yet another step towards strengthening legal literacy at the grassroots level.
