District Police Ganderbal Arrested A Notorious Drug Peddler In The Jurisdiction Of Ps Gund And Seized Contraband Substance.

War Against Drugs Continues.

In continuation of its relentless efforts to eradicate the drug menace from society, Ganderbal Police has arrested a notorious drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station Gund and seized a significant quantity of contraband substance.

Late last night, Police Station Gund received credible information from reliable sources that an individual, namely Fayaz Ahmad Chichi S/O Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Chichi, R/O Chichipati Hariganiwan, was in possession of contraband, which he had concealed in his Cowshed.

Acting swiftly on the information, a Case FIR No. 18/2025 under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act was registered at PS Gund.

Further, on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS, a special police team from PS Gund, in the presence of the Executive Magistrate 1st Class, conducted a raid at the location. During the search, the team recovered and seized one Nylon bag containing Contraband Substance (Bhang Patri Powder) weighing 9.800 Kgs. The accused was arrested on the spot. Further investigation is currently underway.
