Patriotic Spirit Shines at Full Dress Rehearsal for Independence Day in Ganderbal

The Madr-e-Meharban Qamriya Stadium in Ganderbal came alive today with the colours of the national flag and the echoes of marching feet as the district conducted its Full Dress Rehearsal for the upcoming Independence Day 2025 celebrations.

The event, a preview of the grand festivities scheduled for August 15, was presided over by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Ganderbal, Shri Manzoor Ahmad Bhat-JKAS, who was accompanied by Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) Ganderbal, Shri Parvaiz Ahmad. The ADDC unfurled the Tricolour and took the salute at an impressive march past that underscored the district’s readiness for the national occasion.

The ceremonial parade, commanded by Dy.SP Shri Syed Azhar Ali-JKPS, featured spirited contingents from District Police Ganderbal, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 115 BN & 118 BN, Police Training School Manigam, JKP Ladies Wing, Forest Protection Force, Special Police Officers (SPOs), Home Guard, and students representing various educational institutions from across the district.

The stands were graced by senior officers from both the Civil and Police Administration, whose presence added to the significance and ceremonial grandeur of the occasion.

In addition to the formal parade, the audience witnessed a vibrant cultural programme presented by local cultural clubs and enthusiastic school students. The performances, rich in colour and tradition, showcased Ganderbal’s cultural diversity, heritage, and the artistic talent of its youth.

The rehearsal served not only as a final check for arrangements ahead of Independence Day but also as a powerful reminder of the values of freedom, unity, and sacrifice. The sight of disciplined contingents, energetic performers, and fluttering flags evoked a strong sense of pride among spectators.
